Oh, It's Friday?

Wow. What a crazy week! A Monday holiday, a sick kid and all that good stuff. I didn't manage to make my Farm Girl blocks this week or even go for a single walk (update: snuck one in!). So, instead of pacing around a sick kid, I needed something to do. My activity of choice was sewing on binding. I tend to have hand sewing projects ready to go. I would have preferred sleep, but a kid with a stomach bug doesn't allow that! Also, it doesn't help to have a cat sitting on your head all night and a tail smacking you in the face. Apparently, the recliner belongs to the cat. She saw a tiny spider up on the wall and watched it and watched it. All. Night. Long. Thank you little kitty, I'll remember that during your daytime napping session.

So, I thought I'd share some photos of my adventures. I should have grabbed a picture of the cat, but the look on my face may have broken the camera. Oh.....and no stomach bug photos either. I don't want to relive that!

First up, this is old. I'm thinking that I used my old sewing machine or possibly the one before to piece this. Yikes! I've come a long way since then. You should see how the seams are pressed! Oh dear, and I was so proud when I finished the top. I made this from the first charm pack I ever purchased. Boy, was that a can of worms to open. Those things are addicting!

Fabric: Holly Taylor Northwoods Botanical

Pattern: It was SUPPOSE to be a Verna's Cutting Garden Tablerunner (Moda Bake Shop pattern), but the border just never happened.

Quilting: My first attempt at using the shell ruler for my long arm. Actually, my first project I quilted on that machine.

Next up, this is from one of my favorite fabric lines. Oh, and my favorite shape too. I love triangles, they have a bit of attitude.

Fabric: Lucy's Crab Shack by Sweetwater

Pattern: This was a kit from Sweetwater's Etsy shop

Quiting: Ok, I was lazy with this one. I just quilted a 1/4 inch on the sides of the blocks. I don't think I even had my long arm yet.

Last but not least, I made this last year. I just never took the time to quilt it. Now there's a surprise!

Fabric: Round Robin by Kathy Schmitz, very cute fabric. I paired this up with Fig Tree cream. For whatever reason, that fabric seems to be perfect for everything!

Pattern: Mini Charm Square Table Topper by A Quilting Life. I added sashing between the blocks and changed a few things. I'm not sure why though, I intended to follow the pattern. By, the way, did you see their new fabric line? I really need that!!!

Quilting: I used the Handi Quilter Groovy Boards. These were the simply stipple pattern, good thing they didn't name them simple stipple.......that isn't very easy to say! Try saying it, you know you want to!

So, now that I'm caught up on my binding, perhaps I should quilt a few things that have been sitting around for a while! I probably could work on my photography skills too.......
